Recently officially diagnosed with ADHD (tho I have suspected for years.) Also recently started medications for it. Wondering if anyone else was diagnosed later in life? And whether others find that meds help them at all or not?

I was diagnosed as an adult as well. I have tried different meds and they do help somewhat. More recently I've been trying to come to a better understanding of how my brain works and then finding ways to adapt my routine to help me function better at work and at home.

I just turned 39 in May and got my diagnosis last week. I have an appointment to discuss treatment in a couple weeks.

I have known since a kid but only now at 38 have I been on meds. I find they are very helpful in making things more manageable.

48 and diagnosed about 6 weeks ago. I was started on 5 mg of Adderall ER which increased to 10 mg after a week. I'm now on 15mg, but might need to add a smaller IR dose in the afternoon for a little extra push.

The doctor I had as a child suspected that I had ADHD but my mom brushed it off. I only went to a psychiatrist to get diagnosed at 21. I'm on strattera and I think it works so well, but I know that SNRIs aren't for everyone, especially because they have terrible withdrawal effects if you dont take them every day.
