I am also ckd stage 3b and I’ve had it for a bit but just found out. I have another kidney disease I was born with called Medullary sponge kidney disease. Which is congenital. I am so new to this I don’t know what to do either. I also have diabetes and have had chronic high blood pressure since I was 15 yrs. It’s scary and I notice I am very fatigued most of the time. It takes me a lot to get up and moving. I barely leave the house ☹️ and I quit smoking recently. About 3 months and I’ve put on weight since I quit! ugh I have to try new things bc I munch a lot since I quit but had to quit for my health. I started the gym but have to start off slow. So I have started with the treadmill and bike. Also the 30 min work out at PF.
@SaraKay sounds like you are doing great. You quit smoking! Good for you and the gym membership. Concentrate on the positive. God 🙌 bless

sadly once your kidneys are scarred by chronic kidney disease there’s no going back. the best you can do is ask your doctors how you can best manage for now. stage three isn’t so bad i would just watch salt intake, no nsaids, and make sure you drink plenty of water.

I’m sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with stage 3 CKD I have had it for a few years and a few months ago I was sadly upped from stage 3 to Stage 4
@JAY789 I’m so sorry. I’m terrified of that but I’m already 3b and need to schedule my labs and do my follow up with the nephrologist asap bc I missed my last appointment. Prayers to you!
I am in CKD 3 also. My doctor said that I could be there for the rest of my life. I went into complete renal failure 2 years ago and was not expected to make it. I watch what I eat and drink water mostly. My doctor said I can drink Nettle Tea which helps with kidneys.

I've had stage three CKD for 15 years. I'm on lasix 80 mg three times a day. For the past 11 years it's been stable. If you take anything like ibuprofen, naprosyn, Motrin they will hurt your kidneys. Also any dark soda will take 20% of your kidney function away. If you drink it all the time you might switch to 7up, water, sprite. Hope this helps.
@Pattyseg I never knew dark sodas can affect the kidneys? I’ve actually started doing that Cirkul water where they have all the different flavors to drink and you can also adjust the strength of the taste. Since I started that a few months ago I’ve gone from a case of soda or 2 cases in a month down to maybe 4 of the 16.9 oz bottles a month. I use to drink a lot of coke growing up. Until my doctor kept saying that I had to cut back my soda intake.
@JAY789 yes dark soda contains phosphorus, which the kidneys can’t properly filter when they don’t work well. but it can’t directly effect your kidneys if you don’t have any problems to begin with, phosphorus is good for people with no kidney issues.
