@BJSTREEHOUSE Does anyone else get Orencia by infusion?

Thanks for sharing. I have to start Orencia infusions because I'm now on Medicare and they won't pay for the self injection. Doesn't make sense that they will pay for infusions and not something I can do myself.

I am getting my infusion next Tuesday for the first time I was told it typically doesn’t start working until 3 to 6 infusions. I Pray it works 🙏

I have been on Remicade for over 10 years. An infusion is pretty simple. You pick a recliner and make yourself comfortable. A nurse takes your blood pressure and weight and hooks you up to a saline IV. I have the nurse stick me in the left-hand area. The veins are generally better there. After a few minutes, the nurse puts the medicine into your saline bag, Mine takes 2 and 1/2 hours. You can read, play on your phone, sleep, go to the bathroom, or watch tv. The nurses are there for your safety.

@Mr._Gary thank you for explaining it to me! Do you think it’s helping you??

@Mamaqueen Yes, it has helped me to not have terribly deformed fingers. I do have a little bit of twisting of one or two fingers. In the cold weather, my fingers hurt and I wear compression gloves that help tremendously. Right now the only medication I take is Remicade (Infliximab), a biologic, Infusions every eight weeks.
