Is it safe to get the covid vaccines with POTS? I really want to get vaccinated but my parent fill my head about people with POTS getting paralyzed and stuff like that because of the vaccines.

my POTS has been pretty severe & my dr. recommend i get vaxxed asap. from my understanding the virus can do wayyyy more damage. but talk to your doctor if you’re still feeling unsure!

Yes! I have received the Pfizer COVID vaccines and booster and had absolutely no reaction and also never got covid!

This is the first time I’ve heard something like that, and I agree, does sound a tad extreme. I have POTS/hEDS and am vaccinated. I put it off for a long time because I was also afraid of how I’d react to it. From what little research we have, it doesn’t seem to negatively effect it. First dose my arm was extremely sore for three days, and the second didn’t hurt as much, but I did feel very tired. Worst I got was the day after the second dose; felt like the equivalent of a very light cold. Was tons better after. I’d recommend talking with your PCP or using confirmed COVID sources for more info. They say COVID can severely worsen POTS, more than the vaccine could.

Yes! It has mixed results, some people got sick and others didn’t as much. I got the Janssen 8 months, and am getting a Pfizer booster tomorrow. The original shot just had me a bit sore all over for a few days, and felt a little weary immediately after as i drove home. But honestly it was only a little bit.

I can't say much because I can't get the vaccine for multiple reasons. But I would assume POTS might make someone have a higher chance of a bad reaction. I don't think it would paralyze anyone though, that seems a little extreme.
