Dealing with a Kidney Infection: Need Advice

Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with a kidney infection after battling tooth and nail with the er doctors on two separate days that my pain was not muscular (I have bronchitis on top of this so I’ve been coughing a lot) but deeper / more internal. I was discharged with antibiotics and told to come back if I have a fever or if things don’t start to get better. I do not want to go back to er as I do not feel it is to that point but I’m experiencing some new symptoms I don’t know if are connected or separate. On top of frequent urgent urination I am constipated which was not the case a couple days ago. My pain is more localized now which to me is better than the practically all over agony from before. I’ve just never had / treated a kidney infection and I’m scared of it getting worse / not catching it getting worse. Any and all help / tips / stories of experience would help… I’m sorry and thank you in advance

In addition, after being discharge with anabiotic‘s just like you. I felt really groggy. I was always sweating, and I had a fever. But having a fever can be good because it means that your body is producing extra heat, hence fighting the infection. Monitor your symptoms, and think about keeping a journal of what is common, and calling your doctor before going to the emergency room. Remember that your body has to fully flush out the infection, so the pain wont immediately go away once you start taking the medication. Just really focus on flushing out your body, and trying to keep up your energy with some vitamin C, zinc is good, and some juices are good as well 💕 💕 💕

Hi, I’ve struggled with kidney and reflux of the bladder issue since I was born. I have learned to except that you can’t control everything, but making sure that you constantly drink water, and go to the bathroom. For me I’d be so anxious that I hold off on going to the bathroom, making my already existing health issues worse. but going to the bathroom is super helpful. And because I’m so susceptible to infections, my body is really used to antibiotics, and the antibiotics I take are really intense. I usually sweat on antibiotics, and try and take frequent showers to help. Sometimes usually 3 to 4 hours after I take the medication, I’ll drink a probiotic, or some type of yogurt so that my body has something to help the medication. I know the pain can be really intense in your back, heating pads are awesome!!
