Struggling with Self-Diagnosing and BPD Symptoms

I hate self-diagnosing but I think I have BPD. I found an informative website and identified with every symptom/feeling and sobbed the whole time reading it. I don’t understand how past long-time therapists didn’t see it

      if it makes you feel less alone I wasn't diagnosed till I was 22 even though they saw the signs. I'm glad you are going to talk to your therapist. I hit 8 of the symptoms and it was hard not having the help needed but once I got it and found what works it got easier to manage. I wish you the best.

      I mean self diagnosing is kind of how you are able to bring up something is wrong. most likely if you hit 5+ of the 9 symptoms of bpd you should talk to a doctor cause even if it isn't bpd it could be something that looks like it. Idk your age but it can be hard to notice even by professionals PDs aren't well researched and BPD has a quiet manifestation. Plus if you are younger they may have noticed but since they don't diagnose till adulthood brushed it off as something else. Also while rare OCD and BPD can co-occur. I wish you the best of luck and want you to know if you have it or not you are not a monster despite the stigmas people have.

        @Nae99 thank you that means a lot. I hit all 9 symptoms and I have been in psychiatric treatment since 2015 (i’m in my early 20s) and recently did in-patient so idk. I speak with my therapist on thursday and she has an in-house NP so I am definitely talking to someone soon
