It’s been a week back on Effexor after years trying other medications. I know you have to wait two weeks, but today I am so down and feel helpless. I have been off work for a month for a mental breakdown. I just want to feel normal again. Not really a question, but I’m having a hard day so I just wanted to put it out there.

Did you start at 37.5 on Effexor XR? I am also on this medication. I believe it takes 6-8 weeks to start to work fully. I know the waiting time is never a cool breeze! I’m up to 150 mgs so I have been on it for a little while now. Each increase takes time for me to get use to the symptoms ( for me dizziness which I suffer with for over 3 1/2 years now.)

Thank you @astridash I will double check what I am on. I think it’s the XR. ❤️

Hey I take Effexor too and I’d get horrible withdrawals everyday of dizziness and emotional instability. For me I needed to switch to the extended release. Effexor has a very short half-life so you may not be getting the full advantage from the medication if it’s not extended release form. That helped me alongside an antipsychotic for me. Sending care ☺️
