does any of you take disturbingly long showers? I take 1 hour showers because I blank out, overthink, and/or use my phone in the shower. I am addicted to smartphone but it’s more so that if I don’t use my phone and distract myself, I will get really anxious in the shower and possibly have an anxiety attack

When I was younger I used to take real long showers (hour to two hours) because that was the only time other than when I was supposed to be asleep that I’d have to myself. It was my time to cry and just let things out. Without getting too into why, the tldr version being I was shamed for my shower length by my family, I cut it down to twenty to thirty minutes…buuut I don’t have a stable/consistent alone time place. I honestly miss taking long showers but my anxiety won’t let me take them anymore 🥲

I definitely have this too, it's so hard to be able to just take a shower and be efficient
I’m the same way! I just completely blank. It’s like I’m not even there.
Just saw this after getting out of an almost 2 hour long shower… Oops… I usually end up sitting down in the shower and being on my phone. I think for me it’s just comforting for the warmth? Maybe showers tend to help me with my anxiety because now I’m starting to experience some??
I completely relate to distracting yourself with the smart phone I do the same. I’m afraid that if I’m left alone with my thoughts without something to distract me I’ll have a full fledged breakdown.
i went through a point in time where showering would make me sob uncontrollably because i was so anxious about it. I recently brought some REALLY good headphones that i wear in the shower and they honestly make me feel better :) its so much fun listening to a song acting like you’re performing a concert lol
