So I’m getting my gallbladder removed in a few days and I’m really worried about it because this is my first surgery and I really want to know what other people experienced

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

Recurrent Syncope

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder Removal)

I’ve never had my gallbladder out but have had other surgeries watch for infections and give yourself extra time to heal is the biggest thing don’t expect to bounce back like other people good luck everything will be okay

I had mine removed before we knew I had EDS. The surgeon said most people recover in about 3-7 days. It did take me a little longer. Keep an eye on your incision sight, and make sure you talk to the anesthesiologist. People with EDS are known to need more medications during surgery to stay asleep. (I didn't, but others do) my anesthesiologist actually knew about EDS and was great during my last surgery. Also the worse part for me was the swelling in my stomach from the bloating. You walk to try and walk as much as possible after to move the gas down, and pass gas as much as possible to try and get it out. Once the bloating went down, I felt so much better. Also DO NOT shower right away after surgery, they normally say 24 hours for "normal" people. After one of my surgeries we waited 24 hours on the dot and I actually passed out in the shower TWICE. Since I've been waiting as long as possible to shower after surgery and always shower with my partner or a chair the first couple times after surgery.

Don't have experience with this, but good luck! I wish you a speedy recovery!
