Seeking Answers About My Possible Autism Diagnosis

I’m trying to figure myself out. I highly suspect I’m autistic and my mom thinks it could be possible too, but she also thinks I might have PANS/PANDAS. I know the two don’t rule each other out, and it is possible to have both, but I just don’t know… According to my mother, at age 9 my mental health began to decline and I was extremely anxious and depressed and DID show signs of ocd but also autism. I just don’t know if I ever showed autistic traits before that. My mom doesn’t remember much about how I acted when I was little because her marriage with my dad was very traumatic. I wish I remembered my childhood… I just want answers :(

      @Marisapaige1 for sure! it can be really isolating dealing w these symptoms but you’re not alone. btw i also recommend looking into seeing if you might have lyme disease or CIRS bc they’re both very common among PANDAS patients and treating those alone has helped my pandas symptoms a ton before i even knew i had pandas. the lyme tests that most drs use aren’t the best so i recommend using one of the more private ones like Igenics if you’re able to

      wow i can totally relate to what you just said :( if i were you i would look into PANS/PANDAS first bc it can cause pretty much every symptom of autism and from what you described, it sounds like PANS/PANDAS could be very likely. even if you had symptoms of autism beforehand, i was one of those ppl who got dxed w autism when i was like 2 and i didn’t have obvious symptoms of PANDAS til i was around 9 and it turns out i’ve had PANDAS since i was a toddler, it was just more mild at first
