why sleep I'm just going to have another nightmare I've been having nightmares sense I was 4 years old and I really don't feel like having a panic attack/meltdown bc of another one and my medicine isn't working anymore for my nightmares it only worked for 3 nights my mom just says just give it more time but she was on a much higher dose than me and they can't do that rn bc my blood pressure is usually either to high or not high enough and since it is typically used for lowering blood pressure they are just slowly raising my dose. at this point I don't want to dream at all. and feel like I can't handle it anymore my nightmares can be over stimulating for me. and before you ask how can nightmares be overstimulating I can smell, feel, hear, feel emotions, etc... in all of my nightmares and whatever good dreams I do have so I wake up having a meltdown or panic attack or both.

@Entropyluna I didn't know that and I love drinking tea š¤£ I actually get really anxious when writing down my nightmares
Unfortunately this is a long-term solution, but you may try dream journaling. I know a lot of people with nightmare disorders that have tried it and swear by it. If you're wanting a more short-term solution, I found that the extra strength Sleepytime Tea from Celestial Seasonings for some reason helps me sleep without nightmares. It's an herbal tea, but if you're on any medications you may want to check with your doctor before you start drinking it. This goes for any new herbal remedies, since some of them can interact with your medication without you knowing it
I struggle with something similar. Sleep became the enemy for me. I hope you find ways to at least rest. What relaxes you?
@AshtynMax anything that is suppose to calm a normal person down does the opposite for me I just get more anxious and end up having a panic attack or meltdown trying to calm myself for some reason idk why tho.
@Duckyqueen123 is there something that calms you though? It doesn't have to calm others. You are the only stick to measure to
They're good for getting to sleep, but the thing is they wore off after 4ish hours. Maybe it'll work for you, or you could try the gummies with melatonin. Ask your doctor first; cannabis may interact with your medication.
Have you tried CBD gummies? They have ones specifically designed to help you sleep.
@Distressedcat3000 my job does drug tests. I've tried using melatonin and sleep aid but that just made my nightmares worse. I do have trouble sleeping and staying asleep but I could just drink some coffee to go to asleep it's the nightmares I feel like I can't handle tho. And trying to not have a meltdown or panic attack or both bc the nightmare and it feels so awful when I have a meltdown especially if it's bc of a nightmare I know it wasn't real but my dreams can be overwhelming or overstimulating sometimes.
