How do you deal with people who don’t understand the severity of your constraints because you seem more capable than you are?

Invisible illnesses are the hardest things to understand for those that don't have them

I remain open to explaining to them my condition(s). If they want to know, they'll let you know. There's nothing you can do until they are open to knowing things from your perspective too.

it’s really hard to deal with especially when it’s someone i have to be around a lot at the time. for me it’s my dad that’s big on not understanding. i look and seem extremely functional to almost everyone but i’m most definitely not functional. if i’m able, i try to distance myself from those ppl cause it does hurt to hear what they have to say, but if i can’t i’ll just try to walk away if they say something rude to me
