Hi everyone, I was recently told I have suspected adenomyosis from my ultrasound results, I was wondering what worked well to help adenomyosis and the insane cramps that come along with it for anyone else? My gyno recommends the Mirena IUD but I was looking to hear about other options. For those that had gotten the Mirena, did it help at all?

I got the Mirena and it reduced my flow even for a few months after it was removed, although I had spotting the whole time I was on it, but it made my anxiety and ADHD significantly worse, so I had it taken out after a month. I have adenomyosis without endometriosis. I've been thinking about uterine artery embolization, it's a newer method of treating adenomyosis that cuts off blood supply to the adenomyosis tissue and the uterus recovers as a normal uterus. So you still have your uterus, and start to have normal periods. I'm still researching options and figuring out what I want to do.
My doc also wants me to consider an IUD but based on friends experiences I’m terrified. I’m on norethindrone pill right now and it’s at least controlled bleeding but other than that it hasn’t helped other symptoms

@tallgirl22 thank you for responding! I know what you mean, reading other people’s experience with the IUD is freaking me out! 🥲 I’m on the nuva ring right now and have been skipping my period for months because I’m horrified to experience the cramps again. What symptoms are you experiencing from this if you don’t mind my asking 🥺
@Jessica0220 I still have cramping, bad headaches, I missed one pill and immediately was bleeding again, I have no appetite and stomach aches and have had some vertigo. I have other pelvic issues as well so I’m very afraid of implants in my pelvis so I’m not sure what I’ll consider next
