Need advice for endometriosis pain relief

so i was recently diagnosed with endometriosis at 19. the only thing that seems to be helping the pain is copious amounts of pain meds. i got an iud, but it honestly just seems to make the pain worse. does anyone have any advice?

How long have you had your IUD? What kind is it? I got a Mirena put in when I had my laparoscopy and it caused a lot of pain and cramping for the first 3-4 months but it settled down eventually. The pain that persisted has curbed significantly since I’ve been on Orlissa—if you haven’t yet, I’d talk to your doctor about it. It helps a lot of people I know like myself! Pro tip—the pain is never gonna totally disappear. Just listen to your body and know when the pain is more than usual. I know it sucks to just like accept being in pain most of the time but it’s the reality, and we’re all here in the same boat together!

I’ll also add that pain meds will only work for so long—whether it’s just ibuprofen/Tylenol or worse, opiates/narcotics—your body is going to build a tolerance to it overtime especially with heavy use. Be careful!

i got my iud like a month ago, and the pain im in right now is the cramping from that. i dont know if i should be cramping so much from it, but I'll figure that one out. i got the Mirena one as well.

I definitely end up using pain meds - Tylenol and advil. I will take them together sometimes too (at different intervals). I don’t like having to have the pain meds coursing through my body all the time during these days but it does work for me, and when I’m in intense amounts of pain I’ll do anything for relieve. I also use a TENS machine and heating pad which help tons. ❤️

Go to Nancy’s nook endometriosis education on Facebook and find a excision only specialist from the list. Consult one of them and they should be able to help you make the best plan for yourself personally whether it’s medication related or another surgery
