i’ve been in recovery for a long time now but the voices are still here and are very loud every now & then, i know that relapsing isn’t worth it but it still calls my name and i’m feel really stuck. what helps you to get rid of the voices?

my friend once sent me a quote that said “you can’t forget it, just need to find out how to silence it”. i’ve found that surrounding myself with close friends who’ve i told about my disorder (activities like going out with them, get-togethers, a yoga class) and their support really helps. as for something physical, maybe taking up art? i’ve found that you don’t necessarily have to be really good to create something (like ceramics, scrapbooking, photography) but do something that you love!! rooting for you🤍

As I’ve recovered I’ve noticed that the voices are still there sometimes. My best solution is distraction by any method, be that socialization, working on a project/craft, or a game. Something that will draw my focus to it so I’m out of my own head enough to basically “forget” the ED
