99% sure I have ADHD and I’ve talked to my psychiatrist about it, but they won’t prescribe me a stimulant because of my eating disorder, even though I’m almost fully recovered from it. What should I do?
Next time you talk to your psychiatrist, remember that YOU are the authority on your health & if addressing your ADHD with medication feels helpful, tell your psychiatrist that! You are your best advocate for your health, so if you’re comfortable addressing your food relationship recovery alongside any side effects of the medication, that’s something you can address as it comes up. If you feel that the cons start to outweigh the pros, you can always work with your prescriber to stop or change it 🤷🏽♀️
thank you!! i just feel stuck because i’ve told her that i’ve been doing a lot better about eating and that my ADHD symptoms have been really putting a strain on me but she still said she “wanted to wait longer.” i’m just so tired of waiting, its been almost 3 months and i feel like so much of my stress and anxiety stems from my inability to focus and get work done
