School Bans Earbuds: Discrimination Against Autistic Students?

The other person is right!! I got headphones put onto my 504 as well as my IEP plan in school if you’re in the USA. It was a little bit annoying, the teachers will be picky and ruffled about you being able to use it and about making sure you’re only listening to music on things like tests instead of cheating but that’s to be expected lol! The language they needed to use was tedious to put it in my IEP. “Use of personal earbuds during all quiet work and exams” that kind of stuff. You will just have to make it really clear how that helped you and how you intend to use it. But it was worth it!

(this is all assuming youre in america:) if you have a therapist/psychiatrist, you can talk to them and see if they can set up a 504 plan with you for accommodations. you can figure out what accommodations you need (headphones, longer times on tests, stuff like that - a therapist can help you work it out!) and help you push it through with the school. if any of your teachers or school staff are super nice and understanding you might not have to do all of that, but i would recommend it that way they cant back out on their word. i really wish you the best of luck, i know how you feel - my headphones were the only thing that got me through school, so i really hope you find some way to work everything out.
