Explaining Frequent Bathroom Breaks with Crohn's Disease

I have always been upfront and honest with my boss and coworkers. I luckily have coworkers who have their own GI issues and it’s become a joke to hurry down the hall to the restroom while saying “code brown.” Haha. Works in my workplace but probably not appropriate for all.

Same, I file information with HR and tell my supervisor right away. That way if there are issues I can talk to someone in HR and thru already have the information they need.

I highly agree with what cayden said. Im very transparent with my managers about my pain and symptoms and luckily they have been very understanding. I think if management wasn’t understanding of it, it could be discriminatory

for me i explain almost immediately when i get to a new place. it’s important to me that people i work with know who i am and why i do the things that i do.
