Kaiser is so frustrating. So I mentioned yesterday in a separate post that Rheumatology canceled two of my appointments. No explanation. I called Patient services and they sent a message to Rheumatology.
This morning I received a message from my PCP telling me to set a follow up with her because Rheumatology ruled out any issues concerning Arthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis. They still believe I have Fibromyalgia/Chronic Pain, Rheumatology just dont treat for it 🙄.

Ugh. Sounds like you need a new rheumatologist. Btw they do often treat fibro. Also look into seronegative arthritis

Agreed. My rheumatologist treats me for my fibromyalgia and my GP said she can’t (or wouldn’t). 👍

I’m sorry, that’s so frustrating. I think it can also depend on where you live. In WA state in the US, I was also told rheumatology won’t treat fibro, they’ll just see you to rule out other conditions. I was told it’s because there’s not enough rheumatologists in the state, so they focus on treating patients with progressive conditions they know how to help. So fibromyalgia gets pushed off to GPs. No one here seems to know how to treat fibromyalgia aside from prescribing a handful of pain meds, which your GP can do. I’ve had to do a lot of my own research on things i want to try for my fibro, and I found a GP who will listen and support me and run tests that I ask for/prescribe meds that I ask for. That seems like the best that can be done right now. I hope you find some help 🙏
