just got out of my first dentist appointment in almost four years. literally every single person there was so nice and the dentist even offered SEDATION??? he was appalled that since local anesthetics don't work on me my previous dentist would just,,, proceed with fillings anyway. he also turned on nat geo for me to watch while he did the exam :)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Pain in joints of lower leg
Yay!! I have a lot of PTSD when it comes to teeth related procedures because my chronic pain stems from an injury to my jaw. I also recently (within the past 2 years) found a dentist who is extremely accommodating and does things to put me at ease. I am happy for you! 💕
my trauma comes from being strapped to a papoose board without my mom present and without any numbing (it doesn't work on me). I thought this poor man was gonna pass out when I told him they don't work and I would just have to sit through the pain 😭 I cannot believe I found him and that I could get an appointment on such short notice. I made this appointment five days prior lol. I can't believe I could've had a painless procedure this whole time, but I'm glad I found a guy who's willing to sedate me instead of literally torturing me 😅
I’m so sorry that you had to experience that, but I truly do understand. 😥 Seriously thankful for the medical professionals who actually care about the patients like us 💕 🙌
This is lovely I also went to the dentist after years and they were, too, lovely! I've never had a bad experience with a dentist but with my anxiety it's always so nerve wracking. I'm glad it went well for you!!
Congrats!! I'm so happy for you that you had a good experience
