i just want to vent about how absolutely horrible it feels to feel this bad about everything all the time. im so tired of hanging out with people and switching on them because someone said something that was slightly off putting. im tired of being with my boyfriend and being constantly afraid that he doesn't love me. im just tired of being tired. does anyone have any coping mechanisms or anything to make any of this slightly more bareable?

i tend to have very distorted perceptions of people when they wrong me, but also it’s the exact opposite when they do something nice for me. what i recommend, especially of someone says something off putting is to write down three positive things about them (if you know them well) or remove yourself from the conversation, calm yourself down, and reflect on the experience later when you’re in a calm state (if they’re a stranger).

It is exhausting. It really is. I understand completely. Splitting is awful especially when you know you’re doing it. I use DBT to distract myself until my emotions have settled, and then I address the situation if needed. I try to make sure my emotions fit the facts before reacting. It is hard to not react immediately though. I tell myself that if I react (even if my reaction is understandable) people will never want to be friends with someone who splits and becomes confrontational or blunt with their words. Even if you are in the right and you KNOW you are in the right…sometimes you just gotta let it go and take the hit in order to maintain those relationships
