is there any way I can live with endometriosis without having to be on hormonal contraceptives? I've been on the pill since I was 14 (nearly 22 now) and I'm just sick to death. Doctors don't want to offer me any other alternative so I'm stuck with no help. but I don't want to be on the pill anymore...

im super weird about hormones because of my mental health and i just hate how they mess with my body so im trying everything to avoid them. im going to see a naprotechnology surgeon for excision in march because at their practice they dont use hormonal medications if possible and im tired of that being the only thing doctors do...so im keeping my fingers crossed for that šŸ¤ž

I was on the pill from 15 to 21. I also had the Mirena coil from 19-20 too. Currently (at 22) donā€™t take any hormonal contraceptives as they play too much havoc on my moods and I also get migraines. Iā€™m on various other meds for my endometriosis pain management (I also have fibromyalgia too). Iā€™ve had two surgeries (at 20 and 22) and tried most medications on offer to people with endometriosis at some stage or another! Thereā€™s definitely other options medication-wise than just hormonal contraceptives! Wishing you symptom-free days šŸ’›

@chronicallybecs thank you, that's a huge relief to know that my fate isn't sealed to hormones for the rest of my life! I suppose I've been feeling very lost because no Doctor I've spoken to in the last 2 years has offered a single other solution to me, and I'm straight back at square one. The fight continues, I suppose. Thank you for your guidance and support ā¤ļø
