I cannot find a doc who cares about quality of life.! Part of what I need is pain management and everyone I ask treats me like a drug addict. I have chronic pain for multiple reasons and get told to take tylenol. of all things with a bad liver, tylenol?! Also, how do I know when my disease is progressing?

yes. I was actually in and out of the hospital for a year and a half (at least) before suddenly I am stage 3 cirrhosis! The whole medical community in Colorado Springs, Colorado lied to me about my diagnosis until it was beyond repair and terminal. I kept telling them it was my liver and malnourishment, and they were busy pushing this new, and stupid AF "illness".. According to CO Healthcare professionals, marijuana causes chronic GI issues!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜† Can you believe that? It is prescribed to me, for, literally, GI issues! Lmao! It is the only way I can eat or get any rest and they act like I don't have any clue what is going on with my own body! I have also been told I am not in pain. Even though I've been on pain management for almost 20 years, I have plenty of proof, MRI, CT scans, x rays, etc... I'm seriously trying to move states just so I can go to the hospital without being absolutely terrified that they will kill me faster! I am at the end of my rope, I sure hope things get better for you!

I'm on lactulose also. That crap is violent! I have been vegetarian since I was 13, so 27 years. If you think about, get the time etc, would you ask your alt med doc his/her thoughts on this?

no one cares these days. I was in and out of the hospital starting in 2018, but all of a sudden in 2020, I'm in stage 3 cirrhosis!!! I know I was in the hospital during stage 1 and 2. So why were they trying to convince me it was the medical pot until I was in stage 3 cirrhosis and in encephalopathy. They also kicked me out of the hospital during this. My fiancee spent months doing everything for me, including bathing, putting my chapstick on for me, and getting me to and on the toilet. If I'd had to rely on the "professionals", I wouldn't be typing this. Love saved me from starvation, refeeding syndrome, and a second liver failure. Love from God and my lady. Don't ever go to the hospital alone if you have another option. Even the "healers" of the world only care about $$$ at this point. And after being told by one pain doc, "YOU ARE NOT IN PAIN!" when I have years worth of proof that I absolutely am in pain constantly, I'm done with the "right way". I will just do what I have to do to make the last of my time here a little less miserable andbpainful. Good luck to you, I pray your story gets a better ending than mine.๐Ÿ˜”

I use medical marijuana for my pain management. My liver doctor said it was the safest thing for pain, and CBD really helps with my chronic back pain and bad leg. Idk what the laws are where you are, but in Ohio it is legal for medical use, and it really works for me.

@Bunnysdaughter I spoke to my GI about memory and extreme exhaustion. He say it was from a built up of ammonia in my system. Prescribed lactolose however it is brutal on my intestines. Decided to go to an alternative medical doctor to see if change in diet would help. Started a strict vegan diet 4 weeks ago. Still in a wait and see

That's a lie. Everyone I know and have talked to including myself says liver cirrhosis is painful.

@Bellagirl it is. And I can tell when it is my liver, specifically. No one wants to actually help people anymore..

@Bellagirl mine hasn't been too painful, but I have a preexisting back and leg injuries that bring me a lot of pain. My doctor says medical marijuana is completely safe for my liver and that is my pain management

I have a lot of pain as well and my doctor tells me that the liver causes no pain. can you believe that they treat me like I'm crazy when I complain about pain underneath my ribs about foggy headedness dizziness being tired all the time not being able to sleep. the doctor says this has nothing to do with the liver from what I read on the internet all I have and more is from the liver. Does anyone else have these problems what about shortness of breath that is something that is new to me

@Bunnysdaughter find a new Dr. They can help those symptoms with meds, not 100% but at least a better quality of life.

@Bunnysdaughter see a gastroenterologist. They will monitor your condition and can possibly help with the brain fog and other symptoms. Unfortunately they donโ€™t know much about the liver.

I'm very new to this liver thing as well. My pain specialist informed me that Tylenol is actually safe as long as it's taken in moderation. I know with the way pain meds are seen anymore it's very hard to find true relief without jumping through hoops. I wish you the best.

      • kelzend

@meesa unfortunately, tylenol does zero for pain but has killed me, briefly, I only take it for dangerously high fever, and even then it's last resort. If it works for you, though, I'm happy for you. ๐Ÿ™‚ I just wish no-one would have to suffer. ๐Ÿ˜”
