My advice to address something like this is to set small goals, give yourself some leniency, and practice positive self-talk to change your mindset. Rather than saying you aren’t a good texter and you’re not good at starting conversation, what about acknowledging that you are reaching out for help and trying to learn, which takes a lot of courage and strength? You can also set a small goal of maybe just telling someone good morning or good afternoon, or just smiling at someone today. You’d be amazed at what just those things can do as conversation starters. And lastly, acknowledging that working on your interpersonal skills is a really big deal and you should pat yourself on the back. It takes a lot of courage to admit that it’s difficult for you to do that, so allow yourself to appreciate the fact that you are trying and value what you are doing for yourself. You’ve got this, friend. 🙂
