do you guys like video games? I used to, but not as much anymore. I'm trying to learn again but it's stressful. A lot of games are really complex and I literally can't tell what's going on. plus I don't know the controls very well. my boyfriend is a gamer and picked this 'it takes two' game for us to play. I just keep falling and dying and he just ends up waiting and getting frustrated. falling a bunch doesn't bother me you just respawn and try again but it's different when someone is waiting. I didn't understand his guidance, when he said "hold r2" I thought he meant to like not let go? but I was supposed to hold, let go, then hold again. I told him I didn't understand his direction. told him why. but he said I just don't listen. so then instead of having fun we're both kinda stressed. is this type of thing common?

Stardew valley, journey, east shade, just to name a few that are simple and I find very relaxing!
@Mik16 Stardew you can also play together with your boyfriend in a shred world!
Sounds like he was being a douche. š I'm sorry. Him telling you you weren't listening is stupid. If he's a skilled gamer and he is teaching someone who is new to the game he should be patient and just feel appreciative that he has a girlfriend and one that is willing to spend time with him playing video games.
i definitely struggle with most video games. i love stardew valley though, i feel like its a lot more straightforward
I totally understand and is natural when you have not played in a long time. Just explain to him that he is going to have to SHOW you how to do it when you don't understand and it helps with miscommunication for me. It has helped me alot in the past with multiple situations.
