I think this is also due to my anxiety, but it feels like most partners I've had (and friends) have left because of how I am when I show my depression. Maybe get mad at me for displaying negative emotions or are upset when I cant show positive emotions to things. I thought I finally found someone who fit me... but I was too much for them

In my experience, it gets really bad like not only does it affect me, but him mentally too. My depression few years back involves having to constantly put myself down. So often times I’ll get insecure and pretty much talk myself down when I’m with him. It makes him extremely sad because he thinks otherwise, but at the time, I was never able to see myself like he did with me. I’d constantly convince myself that I was also not even worthy of love, so I’ll talk down about that too. Thankfully, I’m not like that anymore and I’m also glad for him that we agreed on taking a break from each other because then, he doesn’t have to deal with my emotional baggage anymore. U can definitely understand from his point of view as to why it was so mentally draining for him and why it would be frustrating as well.

It affects it a lot. Although I do have many other diagnoses, depression keeps me from wanting to get out of bed, eat, wash, hell anything. In turn I have no energy to spend with my partner. This unfortunately makes him think I don’t love him, don’t want to spend time with him, etc. The key really is to communicate. Tell them you love them a lot if at that moment you feel you cant show it. Work your ass off to get better for the both of you. Good luck ❤️
