I just feel like I'll never be the person I was before this all happened. I attempted suicide at 15 and then I was 17 when my life was ripped apart totally....I almost died in surgery then a few weeks later I was at work and a man I worked with molested me.....it just goes down hill from.there to my papa molesting me (they think he did to me as a child also) to drug use to binge drinking cutting etc My life was and is a mess
@ShoobyDoobyDoo91 I'm so, so sorry you've had so much trauma in your life. It sounds like you might be dealing with complex PTSD (C-PTSD) at this point. A therapist would be in a much better position to tell you for sure, and a good therapist will also be able to start giving you some tools to work toward stabilizing. You are not alone! 💕
Everyone I know says it gets easier to deal with but it gets worse before it gets better

Definitely depends on the year for me but I’m finally putting all my effort into treating the issue instead of distracting from it. Now combining medication and therapy I’m seeing better results.

Its difficult but it does get better and easier to manage, there always will be bad days and good days but it gets better
Mine got worse and worse over years and eventually near the end of college I went and saw a therapist. I was failing all my classes, couldn't get out of bed, couldn't talk to people. I went out of desperation and it helped me so so much. It was hard at first and took weeks to feel better but it was comforting to know someone was trying to help me. I had tried other therapists before but disliked them. I got lucky and found one I really liked. Learning about coping methods and using them got easier. It was helpful to know why I felt the way I did to then approach it in different ways. Other disorders on top of PTSD got diagnosed as well. Understanding my brain more and learning how to direct it helped a lot. Now I feel the best I ever have, I've made new friends and graduated college.

Idk what type of ptsd I have but It's so bad I had to quit working after the thing happened that gave me it....I feel like a failure 😩
Yes. Before I had no tools to understand what was happening. Now I have labels to describe what I am experiencing and that makes it a lot easier not only to communicate but also to make sense of what is happening. This is empowering.
@IndigoBro But it can get worse if you’re trying to suppress everything tho. Only by trying to face difficult things does it get better
In my experience yes but it took a lot of work and time for me to even see the smallest of improvements. That said I have CPTSD so there’s a wide range of complex issues that I’ve had to work on and that definitely has made my treatment process longer. I can’t say that flashbacks have gotten any easier for me though. My coping skills have always been decent with them but the intensity of the flashbacks haven’t changed for me.
Personally, for me it's just getting better however please be aware that everyone's situation is different. I hope you start to feel better within yourself dear.💕
In my experience, yes, PTSD gets easier to deal with and to manage, largely depending on the amount of work you can put in to learning how to manage it. I was first diagnosed in 2012 and again later in 2016 (separate instances) and while I still have the occasional flashback or panic attack, I'm really mostly pretty stable these days thanks to years of DBT, EMDR, trauma support groups, and my own ongoing research and work. C-PTSD is a horse of a slightly different color than if you're talking PTSD related to a single traumatic instance. I have both. I will add, however, that even C-PTSD can loosen its grip over time, again with enough really diligent ongoing work toward management and healing. 💕
This is a toughie. It's a good question though! I would say you learn better skills/coping mechanisms to deal with it smoother ... Of sorts? 😬😅
