Metformin for me caused a bit of pain the first night but overall it basically stopped being painful the next day. Stomach pains are normal and a way to check to see if it works I think is to check your glucose, if you know what your normal glucose level is it's gonna be a big higher I believe. I'm not a doctor so if that doesn't seem right I'm sorry.
