Managing Work and Baby with a Medical Condition

Not a parent, but have had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy my entire life (diagnosed at 4 days old) and am 3rd generation with the condition (bio-grandmother, father, self). Through our family's history/anecdata, we have noted a HUGE connection between the condition flaring up and estrogen. OB/GYNs seem to be familiar with this, but cardiologists are not, in my experience.

I'm not working but I was diagnosed the day I had my son in January. Coping with a newborn has been unbelievably difficult. I filed for disability partly because the physical demands are too much for me to go to work, and also the emotional demands, I can't cope with heart failure and a newborn and a job all at once ❤️
