What is a different medication I can use? I’ve been on Kepra for a couple years and it makes my depression so much worse but no one will listen.

I use lamotrigine, Keppra is an outdated medication in my opinion. It often times messes with hormones

i had the same exact problem. keppra made my depression even more hell. i was put on lamictal which is also a mood stabilizer. it helped greatly. you have to be very very diligent about taking it tho.

Try saving money and looking into the ones that do, or the doctors that might have good referrals. It took me forever to find a good neurologist(turned out to be the one that not only diagnosed me correctly, but also got my medication together). She works with kids and I’m never leaving her-
I’m trying to find a new neurologist but not many take my insurance and I live in a kinda small town
So, I use Keppra too, but it doesn’t make my depression worse. I’d suggest talking to your neurologist or a new neurologist depending on your age and maybe getting on depakote with it and…I think I also take something else? I don’t remember what but it helps even everything out. Getting a good psychiatrist depending on how bad your depression is at a baseline would also help.
