My psychiatrist is such a strange mixed bag. I've felt like my agency was taken from me for most of my life in regards to the way I was treated by my previous doctors, and this one has really flipped that by letting me do whatever I want. It's nice but he also doesn't chip in to help. I told him recently that I stopped a medication and don't know where to go from there and he just congratulated me for my decision and sent me away. Each med I'm on I asked for explicitly, he doesn't decide, I do.
This may not be the doctor for you, I hate to say. Not all doctors are as strict and keep up with their patients. My old doctor was bullied by my mom to put me on medications I didn't even need
