anyone have tips or ideas on how to get to sleep when you are having flashback triggers? I'm exhausted and sleepy but I've been having flashback/stress dreams lately and every time i start falling asleep my heart starts to pound and i get anxious and wake back up. usually i use cannabis to stop the dreams, but i'm on a temporary break for medical reasons and the dreams are back full force.

Maybe consider doing EMDR with a therapist who is trained in that specifically...helped some of my issues, not all tho.

Have you tried Prazosin it is usually made for blood pressure but works great for night terrors associated with PTSD. I take it myself and works great for the insomnia.

I truly understand what this feels like. It sure is a cycle. I am sorry you are going through it. I have learned to journal before I go to sleep to clear out what is on my mind.i read something inspirational and then I pray. For me. It's the Bible or a devotional. For you it may be something that inspires you. āœØļø Then, I bring up You Tube and play , Abide meditation and something with binaural beats. Which is great for the brain. Here is an article about it. https://www.webmd.com/balance/what-are-binaural-beats I don't drink caffeine past a certain time and I try to make sure I make the choice of where I am going in my dreams.. Praying for you. I hope thos helps.
