Dealing with unbearable pain from fibromyalgia

I found relief with marijuana as well but haven’t been able to use that for pin relief for the last 7 months because I changed jobs 6 months ago and my new employer doesn’t allow medical marijuana use. Highly recommend it though if it’s an option for you. For long term pain relief I take low dose naltrexone and lyrica. I also live attached to a heating pad. For flares I use my oska pulse (it’s expensive but worth every penny and then some!) and a tens machine. I also use lidocaine patches which work better warmed with a blow dried or heating pad.

The ER did nothing for me. Just gave me some zofran and Tylenol after a wonder 12 hr wait. They really do just shrug and say ‘wow that sucks but we don’t see anything wrong in your bloodwork or ekg’. It was very disheartening. I also do not promote drug abuse, however in these pain situations it’s a slippery slope for pills. My body reacts and adjusts to meds so quickly that it may work for 3-4 weeks but then it just doesn’t work and I refuse to keep upping doses. I prefer a natural approach. I really like marijuana. There is cbd that works well too. I have luck with delta 8. But overall, green bud gets me off that pain train and gets me to relax where I can ride it out and relax. Since I e used a regular routine of small amounts of marijuana pretty much daily (though on good weeks I have been able to skip entirely!) I have had far less flares and have been able to work on other aspects of healing my mind and body instead of just numbing pain to survive the day.

I am NOT supporting drug habits, I am not sure if it sounds like I use drugs to fix problems but that is not true at all. Please do not misunderstand!

The emergency room is pretty useless for Fibro Flares. Before finding a diet and supplements that keep the ridiculously intense flares at bay, my primary care provider that I have had for 10+ years now gave me a temporary perception of Tramadol. The pain would trigger a migraine and then my blood pressure would drop and I’d start throwing up from the unbearable pain… It wasn’t a fun time. I found taking 1/2-1 Tramadol initially and then 1/2 later was really helpful and the pills lasted way longer
