Put yourself first and don't let your ego run your life. Believe in your abilities and show yourself compassion.

I honestly have no idea, I’m still trying to find happiness as a young adult.

For what it's worth, I'm 27 and I have had a long journey to cultivating happiness with myself. Some sources for me include my ongoing healing, creative writing and other enjoyable hobbies, meditation, family relationships, and my puppy dog. I think it's true what is said about happiness being a choice -- not that it's so simple or to blame yourself for when you are feeling unhappy, but moreso that it's something worth working towards over time. I wish you utmost joy now and always!

My nieces and nephews are my happiness right now. I’m 24 living with my parents. Dealing with mental and physical health issues. Feeling like I’m going no where. It’s hard to find happiness among the disappointment. I definitely turn to my family, spending time with friends, baseball, music, reading.. I know it’s all temporary happiness, but feeling okay for a short amount of time is worth it.

for me, i collect things such as stuffed animals and pokémon cards to make me happy.. if i have something to look forward to coming in the mail that helps a lot. knowing i get to expand my collection more and more each day lets me have that to look forward to as well :D

Learning to put yourself first. Say no when you want to say no say yes when you want to say yes. Life isn’t about fitting into some socially acceptable mode. Give yourself permission to be yourself.

Art and collecting things that bring me a smile. I bake and use the depression glass I pick up at thrift shops happily! I knit and wear it and mend holes in my clothes with bright thread! I take art classes when I can afford them and love every minute of it all.

Romanticize your life. Find pleasure in the little things. For me that involves an active imagination most of the time. I’m not just doing the dishes I’m a castle maid. Or I’m not just going to school I’m going to hogwarts and taking muggle classes! It sounds silly but it helps me a lot. And you don’t even have to do all that just appreciate every moment as much as you can. Don’t just cook in silence put on some music to set the tone. Dress up in silly clothes. Collect things that make you happy. I’m still trying to figure it out myself honestly haha. I’m in a bit of a funk right now. But doing things for myself and finding love in happiness within yourself is so important.

Doing things you like no matter what others say. It’s okay to go out and do things alone… that’s been a big one for me. For the longest time I wouldn’t go out in public and do things alone because I thought it was too weird or “sad” but I’ve definitely realized doing things alone (especially when it’s stuff you like) is the best way! I go hiking/walking every single day alone, being outside just makes me feel better. I go to antique malls alone. I go and sit at the coffee house alone for hours at a time. I’ve also realized sometimes you just gotta find happiness with the company of just yourself.
