Also it can make you feel like you're throwing up in your mouth with the reflux. I hear you!

Yesss carbonation is the worst! I have found that certain carbonated drinks are better than others. Smaller bubbles are better than bigger ones. And sometimes letting the drink sit after opening it helps too!

I don't drink them but I heard on the radio the other day that soda and carbonated water is bad for those of us with reflux.

OMG I thought I was the only one! I have to drink carbonated beverages very slowly or the hiccup-burp combo happens.

Lately I’ve been taking a sip or two and putting my drink back it’s a bottle and I let it sit for a few hours and after that the carbonation isn’t nearly as bad and it’s a lot easier to drink since it doesn’t lose its flavor by then either.

I get those too, it sucks; I wouldn't say you have to cut pop/carbonated drinks out completely, cause you can definitely still enjoy it. I'm not sure how to help other than letting them go flat or just putting ice in them and letting the ice melt a little bit (basically just watering it down), I know these don't work for everyone because they're what I do and they're what works for me but I hope that if you try them yourself they work!

I had to stop drinking some carbonated drinks because I felt like I was swallowing air and it was making me feel sick, but I noticed if the bubbles are smaller it’s easier for me

@JoshAG I was trying to explain that to someone the other day and they didn't get it! I was like 'rootbeer has bigger bubbles but Pepsi has smaller ones and that's why I can drink it' And they looked at me like I was loosimg my mind lol

Yes! I had to give up carbonated beverages after I found that burping caused me to wheeze and have chronic cough! Staying away has helped some. I relate to the hiccup burps

@Birdlady did you ever get an explanation for your cough? I’m looking into hiatal hernia

I aways wait for them to go flat before I can drink them
