Just for reference, I'm 21 atm. I'm looking for answers related to an undiagnosed hip issue I've been having problems with for around 5ish* years now, when I was about 16. I started noticing that after a day at the park with my friend (just sitting in fields and walking around, nothing strenuous but continued movement), on our way home I'd have a hard time walking because my hip hurt so bad. Over the years, it's actually continuously gotten worse. Now it's been to the point of if I walk or move too much, I need to use a cane (which sucks because both hips start to hurt and I have to pick which one is worse). And then at night when I'm lying down after this, the real pain kicks in and I can not get comfortable at all. It's a totally different kind of pain than anything else I normally experience, you know? Two tylenols usually dulls it down so it's either gone or bearable, and I can get comfortable. My mom is an RN, so of course I asked her (begged her in the end just for an xray because it had gotten so bad, but more on that in a bit). She told me she thinks it's because I'm overweight (I'm slightly/moderately overweight, yes), and because I don't exercise and move it enough. I'm confused how that could be, because the more I move it the worse it hurts, and it's gotten worse over time rather than better. As for the results of the xray: nothing was seen. They recommended physical therapy, but I haven't gone just yet. I'm also confused how that would help because again, the more I use it the more it hurts. Any kind of input or shared experiences would be great, because this really sucks. *I say 5ish years, because it had started even earlier than that, but I had only really consciously noticed it then because I'd just been automatically dealing with it.
