I have a list of 11 good reasons why I want to drop out of college but I’m scared my parents will act irrationally because they want me to be the first one in the family to finish college :/

At the end of the day it’s your life, you should be making the best decisions for you and not to please others. Just make sure you have a concrete and practical plan before you drop out. It shouldn’t be done on a whim

What's your plan if you drop out? Do you think dropping out would be best, or would talking a semester off or taking less classes help?
I ended up dropping out 2 years in. Luckily i didn't take out a loan and was doing payment plans at the time. I had enough saved to pay it off to continue in the future if i felt like it. But in doing so gives me the option to attend a trade school as well. There's always time for school if you feel the time is right for you. My father was also extremely disappointed that I never finished. It's not on you to fulfill their dreams if it doesn't make you happy

I debated dropping out of college for a bit, and then December of 2019 I did it. It was the healthiest decision I've ever made. I feel like I'm truly starting to see who I am rather than what I was trying to be. Every year I stayed in college I was just throwing money into a fire pit because I didn't know who I was or have the passion and energy to pursue it. I was barely hanging on then. Also, person above made a great point, your parents can definitely still go to college 😀
Just because you drop out doesn't mean you can't go back! Also, finishing college isn't for everyone and despite what certain people may say you don't need a good degree to get a good job. Trade school can get you just as good as a job can if not better. You have to figure out what's right for you. It's your life not your parents'. Hell they could still go to college!
