New on the app.. I was diagnosed with GAD 7 years ago.. I took fluoxetine for 1.5 years.. and everything was going smooth, I had a beautiful and healthy baby girl and it was nothing but sunshine and rainbows until almost 3 weeks ago that my anxiety came back! I have been taking fluoxetine for two weeks and haven’t seen any improvement of my symptoms.. and I am sooo scared of taking the hydroxyzine. Anyone can relate? I feel like I will never get back to normal again :(

Awww lovley, give yourself some time as your body has just been through a huge change and it will take time to balance out again. I was the same when I just had my son, I had to change from sertreline to fluoxetine as was better for baby. I was in a toxic relationship and I also went back to working long shifts which wasn't good for me so I experienced GAD symptoms again. My best advice would be to keep talking about how your feeling and if u feel I need to higher your does then speak to your Dr but most of all give yourself time and love. 🙏💕

You’re on the same combo as my wife! They’re both completely harmless! Don’t be scared to take the hydroxyzine! 😇🤩

From what I understand based on what my psychiatrist told me, hydroxyzine is one of the more mild, least habit- or dependency-forming anxiety medications. My only side effect was feeling drowsy for like the first two or three days on it. You can take it when you need it and quit it whenever. though. I’m supposed to take it three times a day, but I usually only take it once or as needed. I know it can be super scary to try new medications, but I think it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try. Hopefully hearing about other people’s experience can ease some of the anxiety. Best wishes! 🤗

With the new baby, it could be postpartum related .. have you seen your OB maybe they have a faster option available?

Just wondering how long ago did you stop taking it? Maybe it still needs more time or higher dose. Have you told your doctor?

@kay3 stopped taking it about 5.5 years ago. I am struggling finding a health provider. I moved to the USA only 6 years ago! I have an appointment with a GP tomorrow.. I just want something else that can help me with all the symptoms while fluoxetine kicks in.. need to take care of my family!!

@NashM i agree completely! I have kids and every year I get older it gets harder and harder. I tried lexapro one time but so many bad side effects I stopped the next day but some days are just so bad I want to try something else. At least you have doctors tomorrow. Hopefully they can help
