Just diagnosed in late 40s, after YEARS of being fed benzos from professionals to keep me sane. For the first time in my life I'm thinking slower, can remember things, and follow through with something. I'm kinda scared and elated simultaneously. Feel like I need to bounce this off others with the same experience to help me understand better.

Congratulations on the right medicine finally! I was diagnosed with ADHD at 30. I had noticed such a difference in my behavior, my memory improved, could regulate my emotions better, and had more control over what would've been poor impulsive decisions. It felt strange at first, almost like it wasn't for real or was temporary. But I've been taking medicine everyday for 5 years now, and it's still doing its job.
