Struggling with ADHD as a Single Parent

Hey, first post.. I'm diagnosed this year after years and years of struggles. I'm learning so much about symptoms /behaviours and I'm absolutely blown away. I'm a single/lone parent of a 5yr old and honestly struggling again. I'm waiting until feb/March for medication for the adhd... Just looking to connect I guess šŸ™‚šŸ’œā¤ļøšŸ’œ

Congratulations on getting diagnosed! Hang in there, it might be a rough ride. I was diagnosed at 25, didn't get on the right combination of meds until I was 32. Don't be afraid to speak up and tell your doctor if something (anything!) isn't working for you!

I got diagnosed last year at the age of 37 I'm now on a stimulant medication and it has changed my whole life. I also have a 16 year old son with ADHD he was diagnosed at 7 but never medicated we are now currently waiting for him to get prescribed. Being a parent with ADHD and having a child with it also is really really hard and I've struggled badly until my diagnosis and medication. For years my doctor's kept thobbing me off with depression and Bpd. I've had this since I was young but couldn't get an assessment til last year.
