Has anyone had genetic testing to help diagnose or treat your epilepsy? I've been undiagnosed for five years with seizures and assumed pseudo because I don't lose control of bodily functions. though I do vomit. And hormonal changes can be a trigger.Does getting tested help and do I have specifically go through a referral process? My two neurologists have bad communication I don't feel I'm going anywhere and Emory appointments are far and few between and with the epidemic it's much harder to get testing and treatments.

It's in Atlanta. I'm tired of being dismissed as pseudo constantly I have PTSD but it can't account the fact I always have my worst seizures/migraines during pms or beginning of periods. Everyone is complacent and ignore the obvious pattern. I haven't even had a MRI since I was 17 when migraines were the only problem. I psychically cannot force myself to vomit for that even the whole contents of my stomach unless I actually have digestional issues. Its always agonizingly slow because of my symptoms with migraines, and vomiting so many years. I don't know what symptoms they need to actually care about a proper diagnosis. They never take me off medication with EEG and expect a new result.

If you’re with Emory (I’m assuming the one in Atlanta or the brain and spine one?) I used to go there! My neuro was Dr. Dickey! It ended up getting to be a little too far (30 mins - an hour depending on our horrid traffic) but that’s where I had my first neuro team!
