Stitches on my Stoma after Ostomy Surgery

I have an ostomy bag from a surgery on March 27th and the stitches are on my stoma still. Is that normal? It hurts and I’ve heard they need to stay in from some doctors and they need to come out from others. Advice?

Depending on the stitches they should dissolve! I’ve had a few ostomies in the past and each one they’ve given me stitches that dissolve. I know depending on the stitches too they can cut them for you too. I would check with another dr to make sure, because your ostomy shouldn’t be in pain.
