I had surgery for diverticulitis of my sigmoid colon in December. I had an ileostomy reversal surgery last Monday. I'm still having bloody diarrhea. Is this typical?

Please contact your doctor to be sure all is expected. Was your surgery laparoscopic or open?

I have a colostomy bag. I’m so afraid of getting it reversed. Heard horror stories. But the biggest reason is because now, I have it all over my colon. I hate the bag, but it saved my life. I had sepsis and then septic shock

@BrownEyes814 I'm glad you can keep going with a bag. I had a good friend who was too proud for the bag. Kemo took him. He never ruptured that I know off??? That might have saved him. He would have woke with a bag and skipped on kemo?? Hard saying.

I had the colostomy bag, had a colonoscopy reversal . I had blood in my stool every now and then for about two weeks. At least a week is normal 👍. It's not easy getting to normal and I still have multiple finger size links instead of large deposits. Sorry for graphics
