Hello, I'm PEPhoenix and I am 29 years old. I was diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy type 2 in 2011, just after graduating high school. My mother had just been diagnosed and I was showing symptoms. Such as cramping and pain in my hands, legs, and arms. As well as, what I've only seen referred to as "hand contractures." Since then things have progressed and I experience more pain, have had a loop recorder surgically implanted in my chest, and experience temporary loss of muscle control in my legs and hands especially. I have recently gotten insurance for the first time in two years and am slowly getting back on track to taking better care of my health and even working on getting fit. Beyond my health stuff.. I identify as queer, am newly engaged, a cat mom, and love witchy things and being in nature. I have been intentionally trying to be open to meeting new people and making friends. I am here to share anything I have learned along the way and learn from you as well! Wishing you all a restorative weekend. 💚✨
