I just need to vent. Why must I do everything with my in-laws? We even do double dates with them and my husband and I cannot even go see certain movies before them. And my husband wants to move super close to them so his mom can be "free child care" for us. Idk what to do. I've talked to him. But my reasons for not wanting to be close to them are almost none other than I don't want to. ugh

Tell him you feel like they're being overbearing or that it's too much and that you want to be able to spend some time with just the two of you because it's not the same with four of you. Tell him that you want to be able to spend alone time with him to do things that you can't do with other people around you, something only you two can do. When you have your in-laws around it's less of a date and more of a friendly hangout, you want an actual date

@Keelee Thank you so much! I've told him the overbearing part and he gets defensive and then gets upset with me. I'm just tired of feeling like a fourth wheel in my own marriage. :/ He follows his mom around like a puppy but I ask him to do something and he either doesn't hear me or hears me and then ignores me. It's just too much for me. Oh, we live with them right now as well. It's just too much.

@Lilly1 Live with them? Jesus he might as well just date them if he wants to be around them that much. He is being a terrible husband for not listening to you and not seeing what he's doing is kinda childish. He sounds like a 4 year old boy following his mommy around. My boyfriend is like your husband in the not listening part, he thinks he knows everything and that he's always right, it's very frustrating! Not to mention he doesn't see when he's doing something wrong, it's unbelievable almost
