Are thete any tips for helping with tge stress and anxiety of moving? It's not the moving It's self that I'm upset with, it's the fact that I'm loosing a place that is very familiar to me and that made me comfortable. Im set to move in January, I dispise change and I'm finding it very hard to cope with such a big change. Even though where I'm currently living isn't safe for me and moving will be way more beneficial to me, I'm still having so much fear in leaving what's familiar and how I essentially won't have my comfort zone anymore and I won't have a new one for quite some time. Is there anything anyone knows that can help with processing a change this big? I feel like it's all going to hit me at once and that's what I'm trying to avoid because I know I'll be a mess

If you can, have a cross over period so you can spend some time in new place but still go home to current place, then build on that till your spending more time in the new place
Definitely keep comfort objects close and unpacked. Anything you think you'll need on hand the next week during the process should be separated into something like a book bag. Having things you need packed away and having to go back through things can add on unnecessary stress. Give yourself a relaxing environment, doing things you enjoy as much as possible. Me for example, I'd light a good smelling candle, burn some incense, maybe have my favorite food/snacks/drink, and just relax and watch a movie. Definitely stay as busy as possible as to not have a chance to overthink it so much. Listen to some music that puts you in a good mood, sing and dance along, trick your brain into thinking you're having fun as silly as it sounds. Once you've actually moved in, first priority should be setting up your room and making it all nice and cozy and cute so it's a space you can relax and enjoy being in as soon as possible. Don't push yourself too hard to get everything done immediately, take your time and take some deep breaths. Also good luck!! I've had to move around a lot the past 6 months and it's been really rough, but it gets better and you get stronger cause of it.

"Writing down a few things you're thankful for every day can help. Journaling more can also help sort out your thoughts. Another strategy is to write down as many positives as you can think of that come from the change and all the things that remain constant still to help realize everything hasn't changed. Establishing new routines, determining how locals have social interactions, and finding ways to get a taste of home through home decor can also help. Remember to have patience, as it can take time to establish strong roots in a new place."
