A friend of mine who lives one state away disappeared one day. We have never met in person so when all of his social media accounts disappeared, something wasn't right. My mind went racing on reasons, good and bad. This has been for weeks. Last night they finally text me, saying they are not mentally well and thought ghosting me was the best idea but realized he was wrong. But he hasn't contacted me since. I am glad he reached out to me and I want to respect his choices. I need help finding ways to not push those boundaries but still let them know I am always going to be there for them. Anyone able to help me get ideas?

I am in a similar situation. My boyfriend stopped texting me and when he did he said he is probably going to continue to be quiet because he isn't well mentally. I told him directly that I love and care about him and that I will wait for him until he's ready to talk again. I'm not really sure what to do beyond that except respect his decision to be alone. Sorry if this doesn't help lol.
