I dont know if you find joy in art, but I found it helpful to draw in places I felt the urge to carve. And definitely find a therapist or at least someone you feel you can trust and talk too. Good luck friend 💕

@looly yesss!! I draw and paint and make jewelry. If I can busy myself with those it surely does help.
Good luck. If you need to talk you can pm me.
Find a therapist. Don't wait or put it off too long like I did. I landed in a psychiatric hospital for a lengthy stay which helped a lot, but was not pleasant like they portray it on TV or in the movies. You will probably be put on some medications, and that can be a bit of a roller coaster ride, but worth it in the long run. They will most likely assign you a psychiatrist or counselor, and maybe a case manager, which can really be a big help, and a God send at times. You have to really want to be helped for it to work, though.
Hey, I used to self harm as a teenager, then went a few years without, and recently relapsed and am working on not falling back into it. I've made myself a list of things to do instead when I have the urge to cut. Feel free to pm me if you'd like to talk about what I put on my list and what you might want to put in a list for yourself. You are strong and brave to take this step toward changing. 💕
Put the knife down ❤️🫂
@Austin_Brand thank you dear
Find a therapist who specializes in dialectical behavioral therapy!
Something that helps me is to have a therapist, an accountability partner/mentor(who is older than me and understands the struggles I’m going through and won’t judge), and another thing is painting red lines all over my arms, hands, and fingers until the urge goes away(I struggle with cutting).
@Animalnerd thank you
