I’ve been struggling with a problem for years now. That problem is respecting other people’s boundaries. Sometimes whenever I feel like I want to make connections with others I end up pushing them away by making them feel uncomfortable or asking things that I shouldn’t. I have this delusion that sometimes people need a little push out of their comfort zone to grow and develop as if it’s my job to do so. I know it isn’t, but sometimes when I want to make someone feel better I tend to address the problem even though they’re not that comfortable with it. Sometimes I felt like my own boundaries were not respected in the past by peers or adults and I’ve just come to accept that. Sometimes I wonder if I have become desensitized to boundaries. Because of this I’ve been banned from a couple of social media sites.

Boundaries can be very difficult. the pushback from not understanding them or being adept with them is often quite severe. I'd recommend finding other people who struggle with this and seeing how normal this really is. People who have difficulty with boundaries could use support from a professional as well. I've struggled with this before due to my parents' not so great parenting, but with time and feedback from my therapist, I've been able to acclimate for the most part to society's expectations.

I dmed (direct messaged) a person twice when they told me not to. That’s why. My only intent was to be their friend.

Oh wow. Why would they ban you? I feel like you did absolutely nothing wrong. Sometimes people do need a little push. As long as no one is getting hurt or feel like they are getting attacked.
