I have always struggled with poor body image. Being 4’11”, I have always tried to keep my weight down to try and look like other girls my age. I have played competitive softball since the age of 9, so I was constantly comparing myself to other girls in the sport. Up until March of 2020, I weighed 115 pounds. I thought I was so heavy and wanted to weigh less. But then, the pandemic hit. I was cooped up in my house and did nothing but lay around and eat. I gained 20 pounds in 2 months, and I continued to gain weight. At my heaviest, I weighed 165 pounds. I didn’t even realize what I had done to myself until I could no longer fit into my softball uniforms. I now weight 140 pounds, but still struggle with self confidence. Sure, I’ve lost weight, but I fight with myself every single day to try and lose more weight. I know as we age, we gain weight, but I have developed such a bad relationship with food. How do I stop this? I can’t stop thinking about every little thing I put into my body.

I've struggled with my weight all my life. But I look at photos and see myself so differently NOW than I felt THEN. At 55, I've learned to eat clean and raw. I will also eat prepared fish and eggs. I try to not eat red meat, but every once in awhile I will eat a bloody rare steak. Eating clean and raw will also help you shed pounds. Like almost instantly. Lots of smoothies. Just frozen fruits, fresh spinach, protein powder and coconut milk.
